As of January, 2008 the interest rate for both pre- and post-judgments was 7.75%
The interest rate for judgments is determined annually in January.
The following table represents the pre- and post-judgment interest rates for past years to August 7th 1997.

Other Notes of Interest:
- Once an interest rate is established, it is locked in until the judgment is paid. (i.e. a judgment entered in 2007 at 9.25% remains at that interest rate into 2008 even though the interest rate for this year's judgments has fallen to 7.75%)
- AS 09.30.070(a) defines the interest rate as "three percentage points above the 12th Federal Reserve District discount rate in effect on January 2 of the year in which the judgment or decree is entered".
- The interest rate for judgments where the cause of action accrued before August 7, 1997 is 10.5%. for all dates on or following August 7, 1997, follow the rates as determined by AS 09.30.070(a).
